Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Psychiatry Consultant to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy to adult patients across outpatient and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various psychiatric modalities, experience working with diverse populations--including those with developmental disabilities, PTSD, and geriatrics--and proficiency in telehealth services. Responsibilities

Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adult patients, including intake procedures and ongoing patient monitoring. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy (including psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy), and crisis management techniques. Provide evidence-based mental health counseling tailored to patients with complex needs such as PTSD, addiction issues, developmental disabilities, and geriatric populations. Manage inpatient and outpatient caseloads, ensuring continuity of care through effective patient assessment and follow-up. Document clinical encounters accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, facilitate data collection, and ensure comprehensive treatment delivery. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to expand access to mental health services for diverse patient populations. Stay current with medical terminology, diagnostic criteria, and best practices in psychiatry to enhance patient outcomes. Participate in ongoing professional development activities related to behavioral health, crisis intervention, addiction counseling, and other specialized areas as needed.

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry. Post-residency experience in adult psychiatry, with exposure to inpatient, outpatient, clinic settings, or telehealth services. Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric modalities including psychopharmacology, psychotherapy (psychodynamic therapy), cognitive behavioral therapy, and crisis management. Experience working with patients with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, PTSD, addiction issues, and other complex mental health conditions. Strong knowledge of medical documentation standards, medical terminology, and electronic medical records systems compliant with HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Prior experience working within hospital or clinic environments is preferred; familiarity with behavioral health protocols is essential.
