Agile Delivery Lead

Royal Tunbridge Wells, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you passionate about driving delivery excellence and empowering teams to succeed? We're looking for an Agile Delivery Lead to join our Data Product Function, where you'll work closely with Data Product Owners, Technical Leads, and Data Governance experts. This hands-on, dynamic position combines agile discipline with pragmatic delivery management. You'll be responsible for ensuring our data initiatives are delivered with quality and trust, spanning areas like Data Ingestion, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Governance. You'll remove blockers, manage end-to-end release processes, and embed agile ways of working that foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across our multidisciplinary squads.

In this role, you'll be a vital part of our wider Commercial team, supporting them with seamless delivery of high-value data products that inform strategic business decisions. By working flexibly alongside other Agile Delivery Leads, you'll help create a consistent, supportive environment that promotes shared learning and effective coverage across squads. Ultimately, your contribution will be instrumental in advancing our data strategy, ensuring our data assets evolve in a way that maximises value, trust, and agility for the business.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:

Facilitate agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog reviews, and retrospectives to keep squads focused and efficient. Work with the Data Product Owner to plan sprints that align with the overarching product roadmap, business priorities, and strategic objectives. Identify and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies to keep delivery on track and remove blockers. Manage the release process, making sure releases are well-coordinated, controlled, and meet business needs. Take a hands-on approach to delivering data products, helping squads achieve real results while encouraging innovation and learning. Use your agile expertise to coach teams, improve delivery processes, and track performance to boost productivity. Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Data Governance, Data Modelling, and QA teams to ensure smooth delivery. Ensure all delivery activities follow governance standards, quality practices, and data standards to maintain trust and compliance.

Proficient in Azure DevOps, including managing releases, deployments, change control, pipelines, boards, repositories, permissions, and integrations. Understanding of data product lifecycle stages with capacity planning and workload management skills to help teams meet sprint goals realistically. Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions in regulated environments.
