An exciting opportunity has arose for a motivated and professional Dental Nurse apprentice, to train and work within 2 busy, well-established dental practice's in the Wirral area.
You will complete a qualification that's recognised for registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) is an essential requirement for dental nurses, and our Apprenticeship is accepted for GDC registration (on successful achievement of the Level 3).
Key responsibilities :
Provide clinical and administrative support to all clinical staff.
Other responsibilities :
Ensure clinical areas and all equipment and instruments are clean, tidy and sterile following HTM 01-05 guidelines.
Use all equipment in accordance with manufactures guidelines and report faults to the nominated individual.
Provide chair side assistance and ensue correct equipment and materials are available.
Ensure the care and welfare of patients in a friendly and helpful courteous manner.
Handle all substances in accordance with COSHH procedures.
Be familiar with and comply with all clinical governance, health and safety, cross infection, radiation protection and safeguarding procedures.
Develop and file radiographs and change solution as directed.
Complete laboratory forms, keep records of work sent, received and fitted and store lab tickets securely available for inspection if required.
Notify the nominated nurse for ordering or the practice manager if supplies need ordering.
Ensure patient records are accurately maintained and securely stored.
Follow information governance guidelines and PJS Care Ltd confidentiality clause. Observe patient confidentiality at all times.
Liaise with reception to ensure the smooth patient communications and transfers of records.
Attend and participate in staff and cross infection meetings, if unable to attend ensure minutes of the meeting are read and understood.
Attend CPR training yearly.
Undergo training as may be required to develop skills and abilities.
Be adaptable to change.
Comply with practice policies and code of conduct as laid out in employee handbook at all times.
Ensure patient complaints are handled correctly following practice procedure.
Relationships with other staff :
Provide support to all clinical staff.
Facilitate good patient communication with all administrative staff.
Ensure procedures are adhered to with practice manager.
