Athletic Development Lead Coach

Full-time 40 hours per week term-time including Saturday fixtures.

Salary 21,696 - 24,021 (28,000 - 31,000 FTE) + competitive benefits package

King Edward VI School is seeking to employ an outstanding, enthusiastic, and committed athletic development lead coach to start as soon as possible.

This is a superb opportunity to lead a whole school programme in a school with one of the of the strongest sports programmes in the South of England, which is ambitious for the continued success of the whole sports programme. You would have the opportunity to work with elite performers and teams who regularly compete at regional, and national level.

The successful candidate will lead on all matters relating to athletic development, strength, conditioning, and fitness for our elite performers and sports teams. You will also instil a whole school culture of athletic development, functional movement and active lifestyle to inspire pupils of all abilities. Our commitment to this element of the sporting provision is evident from the recent completion of a fantastic new gym facility with four lifting stations, a 24-station aerobic room, a fixed weight room and large open space for a variety of floor work. This facility is one of the best in the independent school sector in the country.

In addition, you will be expected to be involved in Saturday sports fixtures throughout all three terms: boys' rugby and girls' hockey in the autumn, girls' netball and boys' hockey in the spring term and cricket for boys and girls in the summer term. You would be working in a busy, thriving sports department and would be expected to contribute to the wider work of the department.

This post would be ideal for an experienced coach with a strong strength & conditioning or athletics development background who is looking to move into the independent school sector, or for a less experienced coach with a sound foundation in coaching looking to develop their experience and take on wider responsibilities.

The post is offered initially on a two academic year fixed term basis starting with immediate effect, 40 hours per week term time only. There could be the opportunity to provide further input at our preparatory school.
