Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Children Support Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to young people with learning, emotional and behaviour difficulties, aged between 10-17. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in supporting young people and demonstrate excellent communication skills, along with the ability to manage care plans effectively.

Responsibilities



Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to foster a supportive network around each child. Engage children in educational and recreational activities that stimulate their development and well-being. Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and any incidents that occur during care. Drive as required to transport children safely to various locations, including appointments or recreational activities. To ensure that our child/young person is valued, able to explore personal development and can communicate their needs, choices and aspirations. To support children/young people fully with their life choices, including activities in the community, this will involve sports, swimming, walking, independent living and a range of activities that will consist of physical participation. To provide individual advocate support as necessary, promoting and empowering the child/young person's choice, inclusion and decision making. To always promote and respect the privacy and dignity of the child/young person To project a positive image of young people with learning difficulties, challenging behaviours or other disabilities.

Special Conditions



This post requires the holder to do varying shifts, 12hour shift call rota system. The post holder also is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required. Sleeping-in duties are also required which is paid at an additional rate. Other flexible shifts are available at managers discretion for example 20 hours a week or weekends only On occasions you may be requested to change your rota at a given notice as per your contract, to ensure the contingencies of the service are covered. This may also include covering an additional sleep-in duty as an emergency measure.

Pay: From 25,152.00 per year
