About the role
Working closely with senior leaders within exhibition, touring and commercial teams this role will identify and assess new commercial opportunities, develop existing income streams and optimise business performance.
The Commercial Business Manager (Exhibitions) will provide a business lead role for all special exhibitions and will support permanent public space programming; aligning business elements, negotiating contractual partnerships, and delivering a comprehensive financial overview to support operational decision making and the Museum's annual planning process.
The role is responsible for researching, evaluating, and developing proposals for a range of products including special exhibitions taking into consideration opportunities around IP and Touring, creating a lifetime view of assets from inception. The role will identify business models, align commercial income streams, negotiate contracts and partnerships, deliver financial overviews to support operational decision making and annual planning.
The role supports the Museum's financial resilience enabling it to deliver new products for audiences igniting their love of the natural world and creating advocates for the planet.
About you
We are seeking an experienced commercial professional with strong business acumen and the ability to build effective partnerships. You will have a track record of negotiating complex contracts and managing commercial relationships that deliver clear business benefits. Skilled in developing sustainable business models, you will be confident analysing data, assessing proposals and producing reliable financial forecasts to inform strategic decision making.
You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders and present complex information in a clear and engaging way. Collaborative, solutions-focused and highly motivated, you will be comfortable working across teams in a matrix environment, helping to strengthen the Museum's commercial performance.
