Location: London, Hybrid Working
Salary: Up to 110,000 basic + OTE 180,000+ + Excellent Benefits
Are you a proven B2B sponsorship sales leader with a strong track record of exceeding revenue targets and managing high-performing Media & Events teams?
We're partnering with a leading international media and events organisation to appoint a Commercial Sales Director to drive sponsorship and partnership revenue growth across a portfolio of globally recognised B2B events.
This is a unique opportunity to take full commercial ownership of a major event brands with significant growth potential - leading a talented team and driving exceptional revenue performance.
The Role
As Commercial Sales Director, you'll lead and inspire a talented sales team to deliver exceptional results across multiple event brands. You'll take responsibility for sales strategy, team performance, and personal revenue generation, while ensuring the highest standards of client engagement and commercial success.
Reporting to senior leadership, you'll play a key role in shaping growth strategy and driving sponsorship innovation across the business.
Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed commercial targets across multiple event portfolios.
  • Sales Strategy: Design and implement sales strategies focused on retention, upsell, cross-sell, and new business.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and expand a high-performing, hybrid sales team - creating a culture of accountability and success.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting: Own all commercial forecasting, KPIs, and pipeline management through CRM best practices.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, representing the business at industry events.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (marketing, production, operations) to ensure delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Innovation: Use data, insight, and market intelligence to evolve sponsorship products and identify new revenue streams.
About You
You'll be an ambitious, strategic sales leader with the credibility and experience to deliver in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
You will bring:
  • A proven track record in B2B sponsorship sales within events, media, or conferences.
  • Consistent success in hitting and exceeding targets, with strong personal billing history.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of commercial sales professionals.
  • Expertise in creating and executing sales growth strategies and driving team performance.
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making and forecasting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using CRM tools and comfortable with tech.
