Curriculum Manager & Teacher of English
to lead and develop our curriculum across subjects while actively teaching English.
The Role
The Curriculum Manager & Teacher of English will oversee the development, delivery, and assessment of the school curriculum, with a specific responsibility for teaching English at KS3 and KS4. You will support subject teachers, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with Ofsted and independent school standards. You will also contribute to enrichment activities and support the pastoral care ethos of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Teach English at KS3 and KS4, including preparation for GCSE.
Develop and maintain a high-quality curriculum across all subjects.
Support and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance on planning, assessment, and delivery.
Monitor student progress, analyse data, and implement interventions as required.
Maintain high standards of behaviour management and support teachers in classroom management strategies.
Ensure curriculum compliance with statutory and Ofsted standards.
Lead or support enrichment and Personal Development programs.
Contribute to staff training and professional development.
Ensure safeguarding and pastoral care is embedded across the curriculum.
Desirable Experience
Experience in curriculum leadership or subject coordination.
Experience teaching English at KS3/KS4.
Experience working with students with SEMH or SEN needs.
Knowledge of independent school compliance and Ofsted frameworks.

Passion for teaching English and supporting student literacy.
Hours of Work
Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Attendance at school events and meetings as required.
Teaching hours to be agreed in consultation with the Centre Manager.
