Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Dari and Pashtu Language Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between Pashto/Dari-speaking individuals and English speakers. The ideal candidate will possess native or near-native fluency in all three languages and a deep understanding of the cultural nuances of the regions where these languages are spoken. This role is crucial for ensuring effective communication in a variety of settings, including medical, legal, government, and business environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate and confidential interpretation services, both in-person and remotely (via telephone or video conferencing). Facilitate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during meetings, interviews, and appointments. Translate written documents, correspondence, and materials from Pashtu/Dari to English and vice versa with precision. Act as a cultural liaison, bridging communication gaps and ensuring all parties understand the context, tone, and intent of the conversation. Maintain meticulous records of interpretation sessions and written translations. Adhere strictly to professional ethical standards, including impartiality and confidentiality. Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure all linguistic needs are met.

Required Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Pashtu, Dari, and English, with excellent proficiency in both spoken and written communication. Proven experience as a professional interpreter or translator in a relevant field (e.g., legal, medical, or humanitarian services). Strong understanding of dialects, idioms, and cultural sensitivities in Pashtu and Dari-speaking regions.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification from a recognized interpreting or translating body. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or refugee and immigrant populations.
