We're looking for
De-escalation Mentors
to join our supportive school teams in the
Brighton
areas
, working with both
primary and secondary-aged students
who need a little extra guidance to stay on track.
You'll play a key role in maintaining a positive, safe, and calm environment -- helping students regulate emotions, move smoothly between classes, and engage positively with learning.
What You'll Do
Support students during transitions between classes and around the school
Help de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Support the smooth
flow of the school day
and help create a nurturing environment
Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to promote wellbeing and inclusion
We're Looking For People With:
Experience or transferable skills from roles such as:
-Youth Mentor -
Behaviour Support Assistant -Learning Mentor -Teaching Assistant -Support Worker -Care Assistant -Sports Coach -Youth or Community Worker
Strong
communication
and
relationship-building
skills
A
calm, empathetic, and patient
approach
Resilience
and the ability to stay composed in challenging moments
A natural ability to

Understanding of

Location: Brighton and surrounding areas
Hours: Full-time and part-time available
Start: Immediate or flexible start dates
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
