Your Role



We are looking to welcome dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support operational leadership of our residential home in Stratford, London. You will be delivering high-quality therapeutic care, ensuring both outstanding outcomes for our young people and the highest compliance with Ofsted Regulations.

Core Duties



Assist the Registered Manager in daily operational management and act as the designated leader in their absence. Lead, mentor, and manage the team of Residential Support Workers, focusing on development, safety, and emotional resilience. Drive continuous improvement to achieve and uphold an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding. Ensure full compliance with all legislative requirements (Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards). Maintain robust risk assessments, care plans, and behaviour support plans. Actively participate in all safeguarding and child protection duties, prioritizing young people's wellbeing. Promote a nurturing, therapeutic, and person-centred care environment. Maintain high levels of professional communication with families, social workers, and external professionals. Oversee accurate medication administration, incident logs, and daily notes, maintaining strict confidentiality (GDPR). Assist in staff recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management. Coordinate efficient and fair staff rotas that meet the needs of the home. Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergencies as required.

What We Are Looking For



Essential Criteria

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Must be willing to work towards Level 5. Minimum 3 years' experience in a children's residential care setting. At least 1 years' experience in a supervisory or team leader role. In-depth understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and relevant childcare legislation. Proven leadership, motivation, excellent communication, and resilience. Ability to work shifts, including evenings/weekends, and provide on-call support.
Desirable Criteria

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. Experience supporting young people with complex needs. Knowledge of therapeutic models (e.g., PACE, Attachment Theory). Full UK driving licence.

Hours



Work on a rota system including early shifts, day shifts, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the home, children, colleagues, and organisation.
