Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving and have experience in warehouse operations. As a Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring excellent communication with team members and clients. This role requires mechanical knowledge to assist with vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Duties

Operate various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, to deliver goods to designated locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of products, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and requirements. Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary. Navigate routes efficiently while complying with traffic regulations and company policies. Collaborate with team members to optimise delivery processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver or delivery driver is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and warehouse operations. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues and clients. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in working hours, including the potential for early starts or late finishes as required by delivery schedules.
