The role
With the expansion of our Food Department, we are now seeking a Food Preparation Assistant to join us on a part time basis at Dinnington High School.
This role involves supporting the Teacher of Food Technology by preparing ingredients for cooking lessons, weighing and measuring items, keeping equipment and work surfaces clean and ready for use, and ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with food hygiene requirements. You will also work alongside the admin team to process food shopping orders and ensure that goods are stored appropriately.
This is a part-time, term-time only position for one hour each day, making it an ideal opportunity for parents, carers or local residents who are looking for flexible work that fits around other commitments. The daily working time can be adapted to suit your availability, with the option to work either an hour before school or after school.
You will need a Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to complete the necessary training to acquire this. Recent experience of working with secondary-age students, together with experience of handling food and managing food storage, will be essential for success in this role.
