Key Responsibilities and Duties
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly, provide menus, answer questions about food and drink items (including ingredients and allergens), and make recommendations.
Order and Payment Processing:
Take accurate food and drink orders and process payments (cash, credit/debit card, or app) using a till or handheld point-of-sale (POS) system.
Bar Service:
Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, adhering to all licensing regulations (e.g., checking ID for age verification).
Food Service:
Collect prepared meals and drinks from the kitchen/bar area and serve them efficiently to the correct tables.
Cleanliness and Organisation:
Maintain a clean and tidy bar, dining, and work area (wiping tables, washing glasses and equipment, mopping spills) in line with health and safety and hygiene standards.
Stock Management:
Assist with monitoring stock levels, replenishing inventory (glasses, napkins, spirits, beer barrels, etc.), and assisting with stock rotation.
Teamwork and Communication:
Work effectively with colleagues and the management team, communicating clearly to ensure smooth service and a positive working environment.
Problem-Solving:
Handle customer complaints politely and professionally, seeking management support when necessary to resolve issues promptly.
Opening/Closing Duties:
Perform setting up and clearing down tasks before and after service periods.
