We're recruiting for an exciting general manager role at The Two Tailed Lion - a vibrant city centre craft beer pub that's already well loved - and is buzzing with potential. Under new ownership since November 2024, we're smartening the pub up with an exciting refurbishment and are on the lookout for a passionate General Manager ready to work with us to drive our little pub forwards.

This is not a 24-7 role as we're a simple pub, open 6 days per week with two of those (Tuesdays and Sundays) on shorter hours. We need someone to give it their all in the 40 hours per week!

This is a role that someone who's keen will really thrive in. The pub is established but getting even better day by day - it's a great home for someone who believes in keeping standards high and offering an excellent experience to our lovely guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a high standard of service and customer satisfaction. Manage and mentor three part-time staff, coordinating rotas and providing on-the-job training where necessary. Take charge of cellar management with expert attention to detail. Handle supplier orders to maintain a well-stocked and smoothly running bar. Drive the growth and development of the pub, implementing creative strategies to boost revenue and customer engagement.
Support offered by the directors in these areas if needed; we don't work in the pub but are always happy to assist in progressing the team!

Required skills:

Proven experience in managing or supervising a bar or similar hospitality establishment. knowledge of cellar management. An outgoing personality with a drive to grow the business. Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team. Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Desired skills:

A social media interest - to operate our social media posts on Facebook and Instagram An interest in craft beers, experience in buying them ideally. Understanding of the financials of a pub. Personal licence holder (or willingness to work towards one).

Salary & Benefits:

Starting salary of 28,000 per annum Bonuses of up to 7,000 per annum paid monthly and based on a simple few performance metrics - and completely achievable. Increases to salary and bonuses are always considered if targets are met! A chance to shape the future of an ever popular venue in the heart of Leicester. Hours are 40 per week with some of those reserved for performing managerial roles as needed.
