Graduate Legal Assistant Actions Against The Police

Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated law graduate to join a specialist team focused on civil actions against police and related public authorities.
Role
Support solicitors handling claims arising from police misconduct, unlawful arrests, false imprisonment, assault, malicious prosecution, and human rights breaches. Work includes file preparation, legal research, drafting correspondence and pleadings, liaising with clients and counsel, evidence management, and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct legal and factual research Draft letters of claim, briefs, court documents and general correspondence Assist with client interviews and witness statements Review disclosure and prepare chronologies Manage case files and deadlines Attend court and conferences as required
Requirements
Recent law graduate or final-year law student Demonstrated interest in police accountability, civil liberties, and human rights law Strong legal writing and research skills Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities Professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client-centred practice Good typing skills Good organisational skills
Desirable
Experience in litigation or community legal work Familiarity with civil procedure and human rights legislation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 27,000.00 per year
