Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times. Help in the preparation and serving of meals, adhering to specific dietary requirements as outlined in care plans. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional. Engage residents or clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and enhance their quality of life. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members in English to ensure clear understanding of care needs. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Ability to drive is advantageous for roles requiring travel between locations. Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members. Familiarity with creating and following care plans is beneficial. Basic IT skills are required for documentation purposes; proficiency in using electronic devices is a plus. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for success in this role.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
