Job Description

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants, Band 3 working within our regional diabetes outpatient clinic team. Supporting the wider multidisciplinary team caring for people living with diabetes by recording blood glucose, blood ketones and observations prior to consultation. All observations are recorded electronically onto System one. Downloading blood glucose monitoring equipment.
Applicants should have a keen interest in working with people living with diabetes. The unit will be moving into a new department based at the Freeman Hospital in the summer of 2025.

Main duties of the job
The clinic team record observations, take pre consultation blood test and basic diabetic foot assessments. Ensure clinics are running smoothly and keep patients informed of any delays. Provide appropriate care for anyone who has hypo or hyperglycaemia.
