Heavy Plant Fitter
to join our team.
Role Overview
The Heavy Plant Fitter will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of heavy mobile plant and mining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. The role requires strong technical ability, a proactive approach to safety, and experience working in a challenging mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy plant and mining equipment including excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, and haul trucks
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults
Perform planned maintenance and respond to emergency repairs to minimise downtime
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery components safely and efficiently
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and spare parts
Work in full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards
Provide support and training to local maintenance personnel when required
Qualifications & Experience
Recognised trade qualification or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Plant Maintenance, or related field
3-5 years' experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter, ideally within a mining or large-scale construction environment
Proven experience working with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo or similar mining equipment
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and diesel engine systems
Previous experience working in remote or developing regions, preferably in Africa

Working Conditions
Full-time, site-based role on a rotational schedule
Accommodation, meals and site transport provided
Work performed under tropical conditions with strict adherence to health and safety protocols
Night shifts may be required on a rotational basis
Salary dependent on experience
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 70,000.00 per year
