Job Summary

Full time, Class One Driver (C+E licence) required for general haulage work out of West Bromwich with nights out as required (1 - 4 nights out per week). Working on a rolling 50 hour week with a guarantee of 30 hours. Responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations around the UK. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively, with a positive attitude focussed on customer service. Experience using curtain side trailers essential and flatbed trailers an advantage. Checkable references required. Immediate start available.

Duties

Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic regulations and safety standards. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that goods are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports as required. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit. Adhere to company policies and procedures while on the road.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid HGV licence. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving. Experience as a delivery driver, particularly with curtain side or flatbed lorries, is highly desirable. Excellent time management skills to meet tight delivery deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and clients. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. A commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and maintenance.
