Highways Operative

Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;

To carry out a wide range of Traffic Management.



Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;

To carry out low-speed and high-speed traffic management,


Where required, to respond to incidents and call outs during or out of hours as required and assist with Winter Maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:



Current Driving Licence

Traffic Management Experience

Positive work ethic and enthusiastic




Desirable skills & experience;



Lantra 12D M1,2,5,6

Lantra 12AB

IPV/Foreman

Street works Unit 01,10

Ability to supervise other operatives and provide on-site training



Knowledge;



Personal qualities;

Prepared to contribute to and participate fully in team work

Prepared to work varying hours to meet the needs of the business

Will apply skills to a variety of tasks, providing support to others and on site training to junior operatives/apprentices

Prepared to develop and undertake relevant training and qualifications

Able to complete record sheets, paper or electronic inc. Tablet device

Able to take responsibility for plant, equipment and vehicle defect inspections

Must be able to meet and exceed output target
