Salary up to 50,000 - 55,000 per annum, depending on experience + Car allowance + Home working allowance

Job Purpose:
As the HSSE/ Operations Integrity Advisor, you'll lead and coordinate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities to ensure safe and compliant aircraft refuelling & fuel storage, and support in safe asset development projects across your region. Acting as the primary HSSE contact for multiple sites, you'll drive compliance, strengthen safety culture, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that protect people, the environment, and our assets.
This regional role primarily covers Scotland and the North of England and involves regular travel, including overnight stays, with occasional visits to other North Air sites across the UK for audits and operational integrity activities.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in Health and Safety management or Risk control, preferably within safety-critical environments like
refuelling, fuel farm operations, oil & gas, or chemical backgrounds
. This experience should stem from either a dedicated H&S position or an operational role with direct H&S accountability.
In addition to this you will also need to demonstrate the following:
Assess and prioritize safety risks, advising on and applying controls to reduce risk to people, environment and our assets
Lead or support safety investigations, identify root causes, and share lessons learned.
Promote proactive safety through leading, influencing and coaching through safety conversations, safety meetings, and audits.
Influence safe behaviours, compliance to relevant safety procedures, and risk reduction methods, by engaging teams at all levels.
Support sites to managing compliance with safety legislation and industry standards, including changes to Joint Inspection Group (JIG) Standards, supporting effective management of change.
Lead projects and deliver process improvements to reduce risk or enhance safety culture
Provide training and coaching sessions.
Create, review, and update training materials used across all sites.
Collaborate across teams to achieve safety goals.
Support Site Managers in implementing safety interventions and ensuring emergency preparedness.
Coordinate and facilitate audit plans for sites, conduct internal audits, and assist sites in developing action plans to close gaps.
Monitor site performance and escalate concerns to senior leadership when interventions are required.
Maintain and audit Intelex database, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance.
Analyse safety data and provide reports and insights to management.
Skills and Experience:
Skills:
Experience in fuel or airport operations and understanding of fuel storage and transfer risks.
Strong knowledge of safety legislation and commitment to continuous learning.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and promote safe behaviours at all levels to strengthen safety culture
Project management and change leadership experience.
Self-motivated with strong planning and prioritization skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn and adapt to internal reporting systems.
Skills (Desirable):
Working knowledge of
JIG Standards
and their application.
Familiarity with
COMAH regulations
and liaison with competent authorities.
Understanding of
Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
principles in relation to safety.
Experience in applying safe systems of work to contractors in project and construction environments.
Qualifications (Desirable)
NEBOSH General Certificate or other HSSE relevant Qualification is preferred or a willingness to study for NEBOSH qualification
