Interim Director of Adult Social Care
Based in London, hybrid
Length: 3 months initially
Inside IR35
We're working with a London-based local authority to appoint an Interim Director of Adult Social Care to lead a critical improvement and transformation programme. This senior leadership role will oversee service delivery, budget recovery, and strategic change across Adult Social Care, ensuring compliance and driving forward a major improvement journey.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead Adult Social Care services and manage senior leadership team
Deliver budget recovery and oversee large-scale transformation projects
Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and high-quality, person-centred services
Drive innovation and integrated working across health and care systems
Oversee structural reviews, workforce planning, and service redesign
Promote co-production, inclusion, and anti-racist leadership principles
Manage financial performance and identify efficiencies without compromising quality
Experience and knowledge required:
Extensive experience across Adult Social Care
Proven track record in budget management and delivering large-scale transformation
Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and move at pace in a complex environment
Social work credentials and safeguarding expertise are essential
