Our client, an impressive boutique IP firm is keen to welcome a proactive IP Formalities Manager to lead their growing formalities team through a transformative period.
About the Role
As an IP Formalities Manager, this is a pivotal position if you're passionate about improving processes and driving system excellence. You will combine hands-on people management with strategic project delivery. You'll lead a small but expanding team, ensure exceptional quality across all formalities functions, and take ownership of the ongoing optimisation of the IP management systems and processes. This will be an evolving role, and we are looking for someone passionate about driving operational change and supporting your team to work collaboratively and maximise everyone's potential.
Responsibilities include:

• Manage, mentor, and support the IP Paralegal / Formalities team
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Paralegal staff
• Conduct performance reviews and champion professional development
• Oversee firm-wide patent and trade mark docketing, renewals, and EP validation management
• Act as the Business Lead for the IP Management System by looking at how the firm can continue to develop and improve its utilisation of it, whilst training others in best practice
• Lead improvement projects that streamline workflows and elevate support standards

We are looking for someone with:

• Proven experience in a comparable managerial role within private practice or in industry
• Strong technical knowledge of patent and trade mark procedures (UK, EP, PCT, WIPO)
• Outstanding leadership, project management, and communication skills
