The post holder will be the Trust's overarching expert in all matters relating to Safeguarding Children, young people and Adults. This is inclusive of matters relating to mental health/Dementia Learning Disabilities and Autism.
The post holder will provide consultation, managerial and professional leadership and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service across the Safeguarding Agenda that meets the needs of the patients and staff. They will establish and foster an effective working relationship within Corporate Nursing and Care Groups and lead on improvements in safeguarding related care, service delivery and the achievement of organisational priorities; and lead on partnership working to improve service and care for all patients.

The post holder is responsible for leading long term strategic planning, development and implementation of an efficient, effective and high quality strategic approach to safeguarding children, adults at risk, the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards/Liberty Protection Safeguards, Domestic Abuse, Prevent, Dementia, Learning Disabilities and Autism.
The post holder will possess an up to date and contemporary understanding of the needs of patients, carers and staff within the varying levels of the organisation. The post holder will have a corporate role with responsibility for ensuring that the Trust meets the standards, legislation, guidance and regulations and advise the Trust on Safeguarding and legislative frameworks.
The post holder will be the nominated Prevent Lead for the organisation and act as Board member to represent the Trust on the Local Safeguarding Children and adults Boards.
The post holder will directly line manage the, Lead Nurse for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.
