Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, assisting them in their journey toward recovery and well-being. You will work closely with mental health professionals to implement care plans, facilitate therapeutic activities, and foster a supportive environment for clients.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety. Implement therapeutic interventions as directed by mental health professionals. Facilitate art therapy sessions to encourage self-expression and emotional healing. Provide support in psychopharmacology management, helping clients understand their medications and monitor side effects. Engage in gender issues counseling to address specific needs related to gender identity and expression. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and interactions in compliance with confidentiality standards. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans based on client needs. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Previous experience in mental health care or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of art therapy techniques is a plus. Familiarity with psychopharmacology principles and practices is desirable. Understanding of gender issues and sensitivity towards diverse populations is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
