We invite applications for two enthusiastic and compassionate mental health and wellbeing practitioners to work within our urgent care mental health services in Coventry and Warwickshire.
This is an exciting role created by Health Education England and NHS England and Improvement to support the transformation of mental health services. Your training (commencing October 2025) will be fully funded by the NHS, and you will be eligible for a full-time qualified position if you pass the course. These posts are suitable for both graduates (e.g., psychology) and non-graduates, who have the right mental health experience and personal qualities. This role will contribute to ensuring adults with severe mental health problems have greater access to psychologically informed interventions.
What Grade Will I Be?
As a trainee mental health and wellbeing practitioner, you'll be paid on the Agenda for Change ( AFC ) pay system commencing at Band 4 . After qualifying, you'll be paid at Band 5.
Please note, due to the requirements of the course, candidates must be available to commence employment no later than 20th October 2025.
You will be involved in the delivery of psychological interventions within a Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT).
The role involves seeing adult patients who are being supported by the CRHTT, and providing psychological support for them in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This will include providing the following psychological interventions:
behavioural activation and graded exposure
problem-solving
improving sleep
recognising and managing emotions
confidence building
providing information and advice, such as connecting service users with other agencies.
You'll work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to promote good mental health and recovery from a period of crisis.
