Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and patient Support Worker to assist one of our service users in the Barking & Dagenham area. The client has bipolar disorder and a learning disability. Therefore, the ideal candidate should have experience with working with such individuals and possess a calm temperament and caring nature to effectively support such service users. Responsibilities will include:
Duties:
- Provide personal care assistance such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises.
- Administer medication under the direction of healthcare professionals
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding
- Monitor changes in health status and report to medical staff
- Engage clients in activities that stimulate their physical and mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Skills:
- Proficient in heavy lifting techniques to assist clients with mobility
- Experience in hospice care or nursing background is advantageous
- Skilled in patient care, case management, and dementia care
- Knowledge of medical terminology for effective communication with healthcare providers
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy
- Capable of driving to transport clients to appointments or outings
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques in a care home setting

Pay: 13.95-14.95 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 50 per week
