Your Role as a Waking Nights Support Worker



As a

Night Shift Support Worker

in our

Ofsted registered home

, you will ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of young people throughout the night. You'll be a calm and trusted presence, helping children feel secure and cared for at all times.

Key responsibilities include:



Supporting children through bedtime and nighttime routines. Providing emotional reassurance and responding sensitively to individual needs. Monitoring wellbeing, conducting regular checks, and maintaining a safe environment. Following

individual care plans

, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies. Recording observations, incidents and updates using IT systems for documentation. Assisting with early morning routines to prepare children for their day. Completing domestic tasks such as laundry and tidying to maintain household standards. Working collaboratively with the day team to ensure smooth handovers and consistent care.

What We're Looking For



Experience in residential childcare

or supporting children/young people - essential. A compassionate, calm and resilient approach to overnight care. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow structured care plans. Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting. A valid

driving licence

(preferred but not essential). A genuine passion for helping children feel safe, valued and supported.
