Spiro-Gills Thermal Products (Part for the DMI group) based in Stafford, is looking for two experienced heat exchangers engineers to help develop their onsite heat exchanger service offering for both existing and new client base. The ideal candidates will be predominantly site-based and will be expected to travel across the UK. Experience would be preferred but not essential, but a good mechanical and technical background would be essential. These roles would also require a level of good fitness and mobility due to the general nature of the work & locations. Full UK driving licence required.
Roles & Responsibilities
Collaboration
Working closely with the client's colleagues and internal staff to ensure smooth operations of site work.
Site Surveys & Assessments
Conducting site visits to measure and assess the condition of existing heat exchangers, Hiab/Crane requirements, etc.
Removal/Installation & Commissioning
Removing/installing refurbished/new heat exchangers, ensuring they are correctly connected and integrated into the existing system.
Onsite Cleaning/Repairs
Diagnosing & fixing issues with heat exchangers to include in situ cleaning to remove deposits and maintain optimal performance, tube plugging, tube replacement, or weld repairs.
Documentation & Reporting
Preparing reports on work performed, including inspection findings, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Safety Compliance
Ensuring that all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications & Skill
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of heat exchanger principles, different types of heat exchangers, and related components.
Problem Solving/Attention to Detail
Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues efficiently and effectively whilst ensuring accurate and thorough work.
Safety Awareness
Commitment to safe working practices and adherence to safety regulations.
Rates of pay
Depending on experience range of pay would be between 16.00 & 19.00 per hour + overtime.
Contracted hours & holidays
Standard week of 39 hours, but overtime would be required when needed.
20 days' holiday per year plus statutory UK bank holidays.
