Kip McGrath York West offers tutoring in English, maths and science for children aged 5-16 who require academic support or challenge. Sessions can be delivered in-centre or online, and students are always taught by qualified, subject-specialist teachers.
Our teachers work individually with your child to boost confidence and build a lifelong love of learning. Lessons are engaging and include a mixture of written, practical and computer activities.
Duties:
- Provide small group tutoring sessions to students
- Respond to students' academic needs and follow personalised lesson plans
- Teach study skills and organizational strategies
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
- Collaborate with other staff to support student learning
Skills:
- Teaching qualification and a minimum of two years' teaching experience required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students
- Patience and empathy when working with students who may be struggling academically
- Experience working with children with special education needs
- Good organisational and ICT skills
