We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Complex Paediatric Support Worker to join our compassionate team at Yorkshire Community Care, supporting a 12-year-old girl. Our client is a bright, resilient young girl with Cerebral Palsy and respiratory instability, requiring home ventilation and having experienced PICU admissions. She is gastrostomy-fed and has a number of allergies, so attention to detail and a calm and confident approach is essential.

Duties
Deliver personalised, high-quality care and support tailored to the client's individual needs.
Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, mobility and meal preparation.
Tracheostomy management.
Administer medication and monitor health and wellbeing, responding appropriately to any changes.
Support community access, accompanying the client on outings, ensuring accessibility and safety.
Provide emotional support, encouragement and companionship.
Maintain accurate records of all care provided and report any concerns promptly.
Work collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience working with
paediatric clients
, particularly those with
complex medical needs
, is essential.
Experience with
Cerebral Palsy, PEG feeding, and seizure management
is highly desirable (training can be provided).
Confident supporting
home ventilation
and monitoring
respiratory status.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Energetic, positive, and empathetic personality.
Awareness of accessibility needs, including wheelchair-friendly routes, transport and venues.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider care team.
Flexibility to work 12-hour daytime shifts.
A calm, resilient and proactive approach to complex situations.
Someone who can bring warmth, humour and creativity to the role.
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not essential).
