People & Wellbeing Manager – Multi Site (london)

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About the Role

Live True London is hiring a People & Wellbeing Manager to lead staff wellbeing, coaching and people support across our four London salons. This is a multi-site people leadership role where you'll be highly visible on the salon floor -- building relationships, supporting teams, improving culture and ensuring consistent standards.

If you have experience in hospitality, beauty, retail, HR, coaching, employee engagement or multi-site team management, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on the day-to-day lives, wellbeing and growth of our teams.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Staff Wellbeing

- Act as the trusted, approachable senior contact for all salon teams.

- Provide on-the-floor support, coaching and active problem-solving each week across all four locations.

- Run wellbeing check-ins, 1:1 conversations, team catch-ups and mental wellbeing support.

- Deliver stress-management initiatives, resilience coaching and wellbeing programmes that reduce burnout and improve retention.

- Provide short-term coaching interventions to help staff with workplace challenges, communication and performance.

- Deliver career development conversations, talent identification and recognition programmes that support team progression.

- Mediate interpersonal issues, handle difficult conversations, support return-to-work plans, and escalate to senior operations/HR when necessary.

- Gather feedback, monitor morale and use engagement insights to identify trends and create improvement plans.

- Promote a positive, inclusive, people-first culture in every salon.

Employee Engagement & Culture Building

- Implement regular activities that boost engagement, recognition, motivation and team spirit.

- Support managers in maintaining high communication standards, including team messages, briefings and updates.

- Build strong visibility on site to foster trust, confidence and open communication.

Operational People Management

- Conduct regular site visits and audits to maintain consistent salon standards.

- Support recruitment: attend trade tests, help with interviews and ensure new starters receive a strong onboarding experience.

- Assist with rotas, wellbeing-focused shift considerations and absence monitoring.

- Support performance reviews, probation management and day-to-day people queries.

- Help with HR administration and record keeping in collaboration with senior operations and HR partners.

- Track and analyse simple people metrics (turnover, absence, engagement hotspots) and recommend targeted actions.

- Support managers with on-the-floor mentoring to build their leadership capabilities.

Training, Development & Coaching

- Deliver hands-on coaching sessions focused on communication skills, teamwork, confidence, resilience and professionalism.

- Encourage a learning culture by identifying training needs and supporting skill development.

- Work with managers to build structured development plans for staff at all levels.

- 3-5+ years of management experience, ideally in frontline, multi-site or fast-paced environments.

- Proven experience improving team wellbeing, morale and performance.

- Strong track record in coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution and people support.

Skills & Personal Attributes

- Warm, empathetic, people-first communicator with excellent listening skills.

- Confident handling sensitive conversations, mediation and employee issues.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites.
