West Kent Primary Care is seeking to employ a Pharmacy Technician on behalf of Tunbridge Wells Primary Care Network (PCN) to support their team of technicians and work with one or two of their eight member practices.
Tunbridge Wells Primary Care Network (PCN) is made up of 8 member GP practices servicing over 84,000 patients. We are a forward thinking, dynamic and cohesive PCN offering services including First Contact MSK Assessment, Social Prescribing, Paramedics and Clinical Pharmacy.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with practice prescribing teams to support effective medication use through conversations with patients and Primary Care colleagues. The post holder will support the Clinical Pharmacists to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient medicine management systems. This will include repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, reducing medicines waste and maximising patient outcomes and undertaking searches and audits to improve with quality of services provided.
As part of this role the PCN will fund for you to be enrolled into the NHS England CPPE Education Programme which lasts for 15 months. Study leave and time off to attend courses will be built into your work plan.

To undertake patient facing and patient support roles to ensure effective medicine use
Carry out medicines optimisation tasks in accordance with PCN and practice protocols to update patients medical records / prescribing accordingly
To support the achievement of the practices prescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF) targets
Supporting the delivery of specifications that relate directly to the Investment & Impact Funding system
Working with the Clinical Pharmacists and Prescription Clerks to contribute to the review and development of repeat prescribing protocols to improve the efficiency and effectiveness by championing electronic prescriptions
To support the Clinical Pharmacist to provide medication reviews, patient information leaflets, medicine awareness; and to undertake community visits as appropriate.

  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent and have a NVQ level 3 and be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
