Job Description

One of Nottingham's largest plumbing & heating companies is recruiting a new team member to join this ever growing and exciting business. Acting as the central hub for all Parts & Materials activity within BoilerCert, the primary purpose of this role is to accurately identify plumbing and heating components, source cost-effective parts and materials and compile detailed, competitive quotations for a wide range of jobs. From boiler spares and repairs to full heating system installations and bathroom refurbishments. The specialist will ensure our engineers are supplied with the right parts at the best value and that our customers receive clear, professional and timely quotes.

Key Responsibilities

Parts Identification & Sourcing:

Accurately identify boiler makes, models, and specific spare parts from information and images provided by engineers.

Proactively research and source plumbing and heating components from a wide network of suppliers.

Find the optimal balance between price, quality and availability to ensure value for the business and minimise job downtime.

Maintain and update a database of preferred suppliers, part numbers and costings.

Manage van stock for engineers and in the office.

Quotation Generation:

Prepare and issue detailed, professional quotations for:

Boiler and heating system spares & repairs. Replacement boilers and full central heating systems. Bathroom installation and refurbishment projects. General plumbing works and repairs.
Ensure all quotes are comprehensive, clearly itemised, and formatted to a high professional standard.

Manage the quote pipeline, following up with customers and updating the status within the company system.

Technical Knowledge & Application:

Utilise a strong, broad knowledge of domestic plumbing and heating systems to ensure all quotations are technically sound and feasible.

Stay current with product developments, boiler technologies and industry best practices.

Communication & Collaboration:

Liaise effectively with engineers in the field to clarify requirements and provide technical support.

Communicate professionally with customers, explaining quote details, answering technical questions and building trust.

Work closely with the operations and management teams to ensure a smooth workflow from quotation to job completion.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience within the plumbing and heating industry, with a strong technical understanding of boilers, central heating systems and bathroom installations. Demonstrable experience in identifying plumbing and heating components and sourcing materials. Excellent numerical skills with a keen eye for detail and a passion for finding the best value. Highly proficient in using IT systems, including email, spreadsheets and quotation software. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both engineers and customers.

Knowledge of the Gas Safe Register regulations (although this is not a hands-on gas role).

Work Environment

This role is based in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment. The specialist must be able to effectively manage a high volume of requests and changing priorities, often to tight deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and customer service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 33,000.00-40,000.00 per year
