We are proud to deliver the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract (AASC), providing safe and secure housing for asylum seekers while their claims are assessed. As part of this vital work, we're looking for a Property Valuation & Compliance Officer to join our Property Sourcing Team within the Property Directorate.



In this role, you'll play a key part in sourcing and assessing properties for AASC use, conducting desktop rental valuations, and ensuring compliance with UK and Serco property standards. You'll liaise with landlords, agents, and investors to drive the acquisition of suitable properties, build strong relationships, and introduce new sources of accommodation to the contract. This is a proactive, target-driven position where your ability to generate new business and manage existing partnerships will be essential.

Key Accountabilities:



Lead Management & Sourcing





Source new landlords and investors to grow the property pipeline. Respond promptly to leads and establish strong relationships.

Property Assessment & Valuation





Gather detailed property information (location, layout, certifications). Conduct video reviews or live walkthroughs to assess suitability. Provide indicative rental valuations and advise on adaptation options (e.g., HMO conversion).

Compliance & Onboarding





Ensure properties meet compliance standards (EPC, EICR, Gas Safety, FRA, HMO licensing). Guide landlords through onboarding requirements.

Reporting & Documentation





Prepare valuation reports and maintain accurate records. Update systems and databases promptly to support reporting.

Relationship Management & Targets





Build and maintain landlord, agent, and investor relationships. Achieve property acquisition and lead generation targets across designated regions.

Collaboration & Innovation





Work with internal teams to deliver acquisition goals and implement change initiatives. Attend networking events and explore new sourcing opportunities.

What you'll need to do the role:







Key Skills:





Strong knowledge of UK property compliance regulations (FRA, EPC, EICR, Gas Safety, HMO licensing). Experience in property valuations and rental market analysis. Excellent communication and negotiation skills (specifically property related). Ability to interpret floor plans and assess property layouts. Competent in virtual property assessments (video tours/live calls). Organised and meticulous with strong reporting skills.

Desirable Qualifications:





ARLA, Property mark or similar property qualification. Experience in social housing or related property sourcing. Ability to successfully engage and create successful working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate across a range of stakeholders, tailoring language to deliver clear and consistent messaging. Demonstrate effective time management skills to prioritise own workload to meet specific timescales without prompt. Demonstrate to continuously improve. The ability to work on your own and part of a team. The ability to respond and perform well within a dynamic none scripted and fast paced environment. Familiarity with different telephony systems.

Knowledge and Qualifications





Full and clean Driving license preferred but not essential, but some travel is essential. Basic Literacy and Numeracy. Basic MS Excel to read and input standard data.

Standard DBS check

will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An

Occupational Health Questionnaire

will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
