What You'll Do
Patient Assessment
+ Evaluate patients' mental health status.
+ Observe behavior, mood, and cognitive function.
+ Take medical histories and assess risk (e.g., suicide, self-harm).
Care Planning and Implementation
+ Develop individualized care plans.
+ Administer medications and monitor side effects.
+ Implement therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT techniques, de-escalation strategies).
Crisis Intervention
+ Respond to psychiatric emergencies.
+ De-escalate aggressive or self-harming behavior.
+ Coordinate with crisis teams or emergency services.
Support and Counseling
+ Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
+ Encourage participation in therapy or group sessions.
+ Promote coping strategies and daily functioning.
Collaboration and Communication
+ Work with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
+ Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
+ Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
Advocacy and Safeguarding
+ Protect patient rights and dignity.
+ Monitor for abuse or neglect.
+ Ensure care complies with legal and ethical standards (e.g., Mental Health Act, patient consent).
Rehabilitation and Community Support
+ Assist in discharge planning and community reintegration.
+ Liaise with community mental health services and support networks.
Requirements
NMC Registration
: Must be registered with the
Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
as a
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

Nursing Qualification
: A degree in
Mental Health Nursing
from an NMC-approved program.

: Must pass
IELTS/OET
