Job Overview

We are looking for qualified art tutors to inspire our fantastic adult learners. If you have a degree in art, teaching qualifications and experience of working with adults - particularly as a freelance tutor - we'd love to hear from you.

Duties

Assist with classroom setup and tidy away before and after sessions to ensure a welcoming, organised environment Contribute ideas to the curriculum, helping shape engaging and inclusive projects for adult learners Deliver clear, concise lessons using pre-prepared plans, ensuring accessibility for a range of skill levels Foster a nurturing atmosphere, treating adult learners with patience, respect and encouragement Support learners' artistic growth, offering tactful and constructive feedback that builds confidence and skills Encourage the social aspect of the classes, helping to create a friendly, supportive community Work collaboratively with the program coordinator and fellow tutors to maintain high standards of teaching and student care

Qualifications

Essential

A degree in art A recognised teaching qualification A kind, patient and nurturing attitude towards adult learners The ability to deliver lessons with clarity, accessibility and encouragement

Preferred

Current or previous experience working with organisations that provide structured art classes for adults Experience delivering 3-hour art classes to adults Familiarity with adult education environments where the focus is on teaching skills and techniques rather than community art projects or purely social activities A-level experience -applicants with this background will also be considered, not just those with adult education experience

Pay: 210.00 per day
