We are pleased to share an opportunity for someone to us as a Quantity Surveyor. This is a permanent job, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role comes with Agile Working.
The successful candidate can be based in any Flagship Housing office, whichever is closest to their home address. We have offices in the following locations: Norwich, Melton / Woodbridge, East Dereham & Bury St. Edmunds.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Delivery of the Design and Build team in Commercial aspects of construction contracts. During the construction phase. You are responsible for collaborating with developers, contractors, employer's agents and legal teams to ensure the commercial portion of a build contract is being followed.
Additionally, you will provide expert cost and commercial management across housing development projects, ensuring financial control, contractual compliance, and value for money. With a comprehensive understanding of scheme appraisals and cashflows to reflect actual performance and forecast future expenditure.
In addition, you'll manage complex commercial matters including the assessment and negotiation of variations, extension of time claims, and other contractual issues. Working closely with legal advisors and project teams to resolve disputes, protect the organisations commercial interests and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Applications are welcomed for the role of Quantity Surveyor from those with a thorough understanding of construction contracts. With knowledge and understanding of build contracts, housing construction, and an understanding of grant-funded schemes.
You will have strong interpersonal skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen and be confident in dealing with figures and detail of the commercial process.
Educated to degree standard, or equivalent with a proven track record of delivery of commercial aspects of construction projects. A construction relation qualification is desirable. You will also need to hold a full valid driving license.
