We are looking for a highly organised and clinically confident Nurse to join our specialist surgical clinic. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and is experienced in providing both pre-operative and post-operative care.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedication Management
Oversee all in-clinic medications and place monthly orders with Talia.
Liaise with the anaesthetist regarding sedation (SED) drugs to ensure full availability for surgery days.
Schedule 6-week and 3-month postoperative reviews with the nursing team.
Send pre-assessment forms to the anaesthetist ahead of surgery, enabling timely preparation of Controlled Drug (CD) prescriptions (minimum 1 week in advance).
Maintain accurate fridge temperature logs and ensure medication storage meets CQC and MHRA compliance.
Stock Control & Auditing
Carry out monthly audits of all clinical consumables and share findings with Talia for ordering.
Prepare and maintain HALO, LIPs, and FNL kits to ensure they are fully stocked and surgery-ready.
Pre-Operative Patient Management
Contact patients 24-48 hours before surgery for pre-operative checks and document findings in the patient record system.
Notify the surgical team of relevant medical notes or special considerations (minimum 1 week before surgery), including sending alerts about allergies.
Provide the surgical team with a weekly schedule outlining upcoming procedures, timings, and essential patient information.
Intra-Operative Support
Assist with local anaesthetic procedures, including patient preparation, medication verification, and clinical setup.
Post-Operative Care
Create and monitor post-operative WhatsApp groups for each patient, ensuring rapid response--especially within the first 24 hours post-surgery.
Perform suture removal and wound reviews.
Carry out follow-up calls at 6-weeks and 3-months, recording all clinical notes.
Meet weekly with Professor Bran to review patient cases, track progress, and identify if earlier review appointments are needed.
Clinical Governance & Compliance
Ensure ongoing CQC compliance across all clinical areas and align with regulatory safety standards.
Escalate clinical concerns or incidents promptly in line with clinic governance policies.

NMC-registered Nurse
Strong organisational and communication skills
Comfortable working in a surgical environment
Confident managing medication protocols and compliance standards
