Registered Veterinary Nurse

Truro, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Join Our Caring Team in the Heart of Cornwall

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our small but friendly team at Highertown Veterinary Clinic in Truro. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a genuinely supportive practice where you'll be valued for your skills, encouraged to grow, and welcomed into a close-knit team that feels more like family than colleagues.

A Practice with Heart and History

Highertown Veterinary Clinic is one of the longest-established practices in Truro, proudly serving our local community and their pets for generations. Our three-vet team takes great pride in offering compassionate, high-quality care in a friendly, approachable way and our loyal clients have stayed with us through it all, with some families trusting us for over 40 years.

Our small but dedicated team of vets, nurses, and support staff share a strong bond built on teamwork, laughter, and a shared passion for animal welfare. We truly believe in creating an environment where everyone looks out for one another and where every patient is treated as if they were our own.

A Well-Equipped and Supportive Environment

Our clinic is equipped with general and dental X-ray facilities, ultrasound, and the usual in-house lab machines for quick diagnostics. You'll work alongside an experienced clinical team who collaborate closely every day, sharing ideas, discussing cases, and supporting one another to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

We're also passionate about giving our nurses the space to do what they do best from inpatient care and anaesthesia to nurse consults and client education, you'll have the chance to use your skills to their full potential.

Flexible Hours and a Friendly Schedule

We understand that work-life balance is important, so we're happy to be flexible with shift patterns to find a schedule that works for you. Saturday mornings (8:30am-12:30pm) will be part of the rota, either as part of your regular hours or shared among the nursing team. Best of all, there's no out-of-hours work, so you can truly enjoy your evenings and weekends.

This position is a fixed-term contract for 9 months.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a caring nature, great communication skills, and a positive, team-focused attitude. Ideally, you'll have some experience in practice, but we're also happy to consider a confident newly qualified nurse ready to take the next step in their career. If you love building strong relationships with clients and their pets and enjoy the variety of general practice nursing, we'd love to hear from you.
