Job description
Edinburgh Napier's

is recognised for the quality of the educational provision we offer, the employability of our graduates and the international reputation and partnerships we have.
Our modern specialist laboratory facilities and relationships with external partners provide both staff and students with an ideal environment to deliver excellent research and practical based education.
Currently, we have an opportunity for a

The Role:
This Research Fellow post is one that will allow you to play a central role in delivering the objectives of the MOSAIC project, which aims to produce high-quality scientific outputs that inform conservation and management measures, while also contributing to stakeholder engagement and outreach activities to maximise the project's impact.
You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and expertise to lead the deployment, retrieval, and maintenance of acoustic and PSAT telemetry equipment to track movements and habitat use of priority elasmobranch species in the study area, while managing and analysing large telemetry datasets, and integrating environmental/spatial data to address key research questions on species ecology and connectivity.
You will also be in an excellent position to use your expertise in geospatial data analysis, statistical modelling, and/or ecological modelling to produce high-impact, open-access peer-reviewed publications and project reports that advance scientific understanding and inform conservation and management strategies.
Furthermore, your excellent interpersonal skills, and proactive and collaborative approach to engaging with stakeholders will allow you to coordinate the delivery of Edinburgh Napier University's work packages within the MOSAIC project across all stages, ensuring alignment with the project's overarching research objectives. This will include close liaison with colleagues from across the MOSAIC consortium.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to get involved with the design and implementation of a field and analytical research program, investigating movement patterns, habitat use, and connectivity of priority elasmobranch species.
What we will need from you:
PhD degree in a relevant subject
Strong quantitative skills, including geospatial data analysis, statistical modelling, and/or ecological modelling
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
A full UK driving license
