Residential Childcare Worker

to join a therapeutic children's home in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a meaningful career in

trauma-informed residential childcare

, supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent care and emotional support to children and young people with complex needs. Help create a warm, safe, and nurturing home environment. Support education, life skills, and positive routines. Encourage healthy relationships and positive behaviours. Participate in household tasks (cooking, cleaning, and daily living activities). Keep accurate records and contribute to individual care plans. Work collaboratively within a supportive, reflective team.

Requirements:

Experience (paid or voluntary) working with children, young people, or vulnerable groups. Understanding of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic approaches to care. Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins. (Desirable) Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, and/or a full UK driving licence.
Full training and ongoing professional development are provided, with a clear pathway to progress towards a

Therapeutic Carer

role.


All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is preferred.
