ROLE: Children's Residential Care Worker
SALARY: 28,000 to 33,000 per/annum
LOCATION: Rugeley, Staffordshire
HOURS/SHIFTS: circa 56.4 hrs/per week (1on 2 off) Including Sleep In Shifts
REPORTS TO: Residential Team Leader
Coben Healthcare is delighted to be working as recruitment partner to this fantastic Children's Residential Home as they embark on their project to secure the very best Residential Care Worker for their state of the art Children's home in the heart of the bustling market town of Rugeley on the Northeastern edge of Connock Chase, Staffordshire, where an experienced team of residential care workers offer a fantastic environment for young people with complex needs or EBD.
About the role
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma or challenges in their lives. Working as part of a supportive and close-knit team, you'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where every young person can feel valued and supported to reach their potential.
What We're Looking For

• Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to young people with EBD.
• Help young people build confidence, develop life skills, and establish positive routines.
• Support with household tasks, meal preparation, and daily activities.
• Encourage education, hobbies, and community involvement.
• Maintain accurate records, care plans, and reports.
• Work as part of a team to ensure a consistent, safe, and caring environment.

About you

• Compassionate, resilient, and reliable.
• Previous experience working with children or young people (especially with EBD) is desirable, but full training is provided.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (Children & Young People or equivalent) is essential.
• Able to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
• Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (50 per shift).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
