We're looking for a friendly, dependable Sales Assistant with retail experience to join our team at Hildreth's Garden Centre, a much-loved local business with a strong community spirit and a reputation for great service.

About Us

Hildreth's is a family-run garden centre with over 500 years of local heritage, located in the beautiful Chiltern Hills. We sell everything from plants and garden essentials to clothing, furniture, gifts, hardware, and fine china. Our popular Limes Tearoom Cafe offers the perfect spot for visitors to relax, making us a real destination for the local community. At our core, we're about warm, personal service, and we're proud of our deep roots in the area.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work alone in Country Threads based in our garden centre, taking on a mix of:

Welcoming customers and offering product advice Restocking and maintaining store Processing transactions at the till Stock Entry on EPOS

Our store is open Monday- Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 9.30- 4.30. All days will need to be covered amongst staff of Country Threads. Full days are preferred, however we are flexible on which set days you work- eg. alternative weekends, one weekend day per week.

What We're Looking For

You must have previous retail experience - ideally in a busy, customer-facing environment. In addition, you'll need:

Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner Be Confident and Proactive Experience with EPOS Bonus points if you have a passion for outdoor activities such as walking, gardening and fishing.
