Job Summary:
As SENCO, you will play a crucial role in identifying and supporting pupils with special educational needs within a specialist alternative provision setting. Working closely with teaching staff, external agencies, and families, you'll develop and implement effective support plans, ensure compliance with EHCP processes, and help create an inclusive, positive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on SEN provision across the PRU
Manage EHCPs and review processes
Liaise with external agencies and the local authority
Support staff with differentiation and classroom strategies
Monitor and evaluate progress of pupils with SEN
Ensure all SEN practices comply with current legislation
Requirements:
SENCO qualification (or working towards)
Proven experience in SEN provision, preferably within a PRU, alternative provision, or mainstream with high-need students
Strong understanding of EHCPs and inclusive teaching strategies
Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment
