Salary:
The starting salary is 59,839, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.
The salary is broken down as 56,911 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 69,342. Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

Job Purpose
This role is required to lead recruitment to fill chief officer and senior (broadband) staff vacancies, making a contribution to:
Improved levels of representation across the organisation (particularly in respect of external officers and female and ethnic minority chief officers staff);
Supporting leaders across the MPS in driving improvements to the Met's performance, culture and behaviours;
To build positive relationships with potential candidates, providing high levels of customer service to secure talent attraction in a competitive and demanding environment;
You will perform duties and be the senior resourcing point of contact for escalation and problem solving for the Chief Officer and Broadband Staff campaigns.
Key activities include:
Manage campaigns that contribute to the continuous improvement of the candidate and hiring manager experience; ensuring a strong employment offer that can attract talent into MPS into a variety of roles at different levels within the MPS to include chief officers and broadband staff.
Ensuring awareness of the impact of changing demographics and economic conditions and increasing competitiveness within labour markets will impact on the pool of talent available to the MPS;
Well-developed understanding of supply pipelines and organisational requirements, linking in with Corporate Workforce Planning and Police Promotions and escalating risk as appropriate.
Delivering ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement in end to end senior appointment resourcing processes, including assessment centres, through innovative design developments.
Preparing reports/business cases for consideration at MPS Executive level on proposals for senior appointment campaigns, including suggested approaches.
Conduct post implementation evaluations to ensure that interventions are properly realised and deliver the requisite benefits.
Supporting with the delivery of assessment events that are fair, taking account of gender, cultural differences and norms, meeting standards for diversity and fair access of opportunities for all.
Ensuring chief officer campaigns are delivered in line with College of Policing guidance.
Development and maintenance of key stakeholder relationships, e.g. HR Policy & Reward; Commercial Services; Finance; Vetting; DPS; MBS; Management Board private offices; MOPAC; College of Policing; NPCC; CTPHQ.
Line management of 2 x Campaign Managers (Band C) and 1 Resourcing Assistant (Band E).

In addition you may from time to time be required to undertake additional duties necessary to meet the needs of the Met; such duties to be commensurate with the responsibilities and grading of the post.

Good practical knowledge of the range of tools and techniques that are required in a Senior HR role, for example, policy development and/or implementation, benchmarking, data/trend analysis and introducing new ways of working.
An understanding of the key organisational commercial and value drivers and the link to people related plans and solutions.
Deep understanding of how things really work in the organisation and the barriers to change.
Harnessing IT: a practical knowledge of PSOP, MS Excel, Powerpoint, CoPilot.
Broad knowledge across recruitment/selection
A professional level knowledge of HR policies, practices and employment legislation.
Leading and delivering HR and recruitment projects within a similar organisation or setting.
Experience of working in HR, recruitment or resourcing functions, dealing with the provision of an HR services to a complex organisation.
Experience of managing external service provision (e.g. Executive Search Agencies).
Leading and delivering change programmes.
A background of having had a lead role in providing professional HR advice to Senior Managers and other stakeholders.
A professional level knowledge of HR policies, practices and employment legislation.
Experience of delivering projects through others by setting clear goals and targets, monitoring progress and holding people to account.
A record of being able to deliver specific outcomes and tangible results through HR interventions based on knowledge and insight of the business.
CIPD membership (equivalent accreditation) or equivalent experience.
