Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dental Officer to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of general and specialized dentistry, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care. The Senior Dental Officer will utilize advanced dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix to manage patient records efficiently while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and infection control protocols. A strong foundation in medical and dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging is essential for accurate patient assessment and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive dental care across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Perform complex procedures such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, and dental fabrication with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and clinical examinations using advanced medical imaging tools. Develop individualized treatment plans while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards for medical documentation and medical records management. Utilize dental software systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and maintaining accurate patient records. Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to enhance patient understanding and satisfaction. Supervise and mentor junior staff members in clinical procedures and infection control practices. Maintain a sterile environment following strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination. Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques to continually improve clinical outcomes.

Requirements

Valid dental license with relevant certifications; experience as a practicing dentist is required. Proven expertise in general dentistry with additional skills in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric care preferred. Proficiency with dental practice management software including Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment; familiarity with medical records management is essential. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess complex cases accurately. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure safety for patients and staff. Ability to perform root canal therapy, dental extractions, and other advanced procedures confidently. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients and team members while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
