Team Leader (Learning Disabilities - Residential Care)
Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Salary: 30,000 - 37,000 per year (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Shift Work (including Sleep-In Shifts)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our Learning Disabilities residential home based in Erdington, Birmingham.
As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives. You'll lead a small care team, ensuring high standards of care, supporting with personal care where required, and promoting dignity, choice, and independence for all residents.
This role follows a shift pattern, which includes sleep-in shifts as part of the rota.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support care staff in delivering person-centred support.
Provide personal care and direct support to residents when required.
Oversee day-to-day running of the home during shifts.
Support residents to participate in meaningful daily and community activities.
Maintain accurate records, care plans, and reports.
Ensure compliance with care standards and company policies.
Promote a positive, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
About You:
NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children's Residential (or equivalent) is essential.
Previous experience in a care setting is required, ideally with adults with learning disabilities.
Experience in a supervisory or senior role within care is highly desirable.
Compassionate, patient, and confident in leading a team.
Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
