Christmas Market Sales Person - Sheffield

Location: Christmas Market Chalet, Sheffield City Centre

Contract: Fixed-term (13th November 2025 - 24th December 2025)

Salary: National Minimum Wage (10/hour for ages 18-20, 12.21/hour for ages 21+)

Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Friday - Sunday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 3 days off / 3 days on, 4 days off (rotating)

Contract Type: Fixed-term seasonal employment

Beauty Scents Candles is a growing handmade candle business specializing in premium soy candles and wax melts. We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable sales people to join our team at Sheffield's festive Christmas market!

The Opportunity

Work in the heart of Sheffield's festive atmosphere, selling our beautiful handmade scented candles from a charming Christmas chalet. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Christmas magic while earning competitive pay throughout the festive season.

Shift Pattern

Rotating schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off / 3 days on, 4 days off Minimum commitment: 4 days per week Flexibility required: Must be able to cover colleague shifts in case of illness or emergencies Market open 7 days a week, so shifts may fall on any day including weekends Note: Weekend shifts (Fri-Sun) are longer hours (10 AM - 8 PM)

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations:

Open the chalet at 10:00 AM Trade throughout the day Close the chalet at 7:00 PM (Mon-Thu) or 8:00 PM (Fri-Sun)

During Trading:

Serve customers and provide excellent customer service Share product knowledge about our handmade candles Handle cash and card payments via mobile app Record all sales using our mobile app on your smartphone Maintain attractive product displays throughout the day Manage stock by receiving and sorting deliveries Perform regular stock counts (once or twice weekly) Complete daily sales reports via Google Sheets Maintain WhatsApp communication with management throughout the day

Pre-Opening Setup:

Assist with initial chalet setup on 12th November (before market opening)

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

Available to work 4 days per week from 13th November to 24th December 2025 Flexible and able to cover colleague shifts in case of illness or emergencies Reliable commute: Must be able to arrive by 9:50 AM and get home safely after finishing at 7:05 PM (Mon-Thu) or 8:05 PM (Fri-Sun) Weekend transport: Must have confirmed transport options for Saturdays and Sundays Reliable and punctual - can commit to 9-10 hour shifts Own a smartphone with ability to download and use mobile apps Must be able to use WhatsApp and remain available via WhatsApp during working hours Comfortable using mobile apps for sales recording and card payments Excellent customer service skills and friendly personality Comfortable working in a busy, festive environment Physically able to stand for extended periods Strong communication skills in English Honest and trustworthy with cash handling Organized and detail-oriented for stock management Available for face-to-face meeting on 11th November Available for video interview on 9th or 10th November

Desirable

Previous retail or market trading experience Experience working in busy, customer-facing roles Knowledge of Christmas markets Enthusiasm for handmade products
